This project involved the comprehensive redevelopment of a prominent site in Stratford, delivering 11 high-quality apartments situated above a refurbished ground-floor commercial unit. A central objective of the programme was the preservation of the site’s heritage; the historical public house was meticulously reinstated and kept as a commercial space to ensure this local landmark continues to serve the community. Located in one of London’s fastest-growing districts, the development provides a sophisticated urban living experience that respects the architectural lineage of the High Road.

The technical delivery was defined by a sensitive restoration strategy, where the historical public house was reinstated using existing materials salvaged from the site. This approach required a high level of craftsmanship to blend the original fabric with a modern residential extension. Our team managed the structural integration of new storeys while enhancing the building’s acoustic and thermal performance, essential for residential comfort in a high-traffic setting. By coordinating a robust logistical plan on a busy thoroughfare, we ensured the seamless delivery of a high-performance building envelope that successfully balances the character of a traditional London tavern with contemporary residential requirements.
